The Detroit Regional Economic Partnership, launched in 1997, is a regional collaboration of Southeast Michigan’s 10 counties and the City of Detroit, as well as 100 private sector investors. The mission of the DREP is to promote economic development through the coordination of business attraction and expansion activities aimed at positioning the Detroit Region in the global marketplace. The DREP offers its members the opportunity to participate in trade missions and expositions in strategically selected locations around the globe.
The work of the partnership is carried out principally through its committees: North American Marketing, European Marketing, Asian Marketing and the Technology Committee. The Department of Planning & Economic Development, through the MCPED, is an active participant in these committees and benefits greatly from the ability to focus our resources on any one or more geographic markets matching our business attraction objectives. The experienced and knowledgeable DREP staff are expert in identifying and working with investment prospects, as well as providing detailed economic and market data through their Research and Information Center.
